DANIEL KINZELMAN - Sax tenore, clarinetto, clarinetto basso, flauto traverso
Daniel Kinzelman è nato a Racine, nel Wisconsin (USA) nel 1982. Ha iniziato lo studio del sassofono a 12 anni e fin dall’inizio della sua precoce carriera ha avuto l’opportunità di suonare con grandi nomi del jazz statunitense come Jim McNeely, Dave Liebman, Joe Lovano e James Moody. Durante gli studi all’Università di Miami (nella quale si è recentemente laureato in musica jazz con eccellenti risultati), gli sono stati assegnati tre “Downbeat Student Music Awards” e il suo quintetto, il “Music Lover’s Club”, ha vinto un concorso che gli ha permesso di esibirsi alla Carnegie Hall di New York.
Dal suo arrivo in Europa (nel maggio 2004), ha suonato in Germania, Francia, Svizzera, Finlandia e Danimarca (dove è stato ospite al “Copenhagen Jazz Fest”, nota rassegna locale). Attualmente risiede a Perugia, in Italia.

"I play sax, flute and clarinets. I like people, and I think music is one of the most potent ways of communicating things that are hard to talk about. I have a hard time telling people what kind of music I play, so maybe it's easier to list some genres in which I don't (usually) play (yet): Jingles, Latin Pop, Punk, Brass Band, Gregorian Chant, Raga, etc. The fact that I don't usually perform in these styles does not necessarily reflect a conscious decision, but rather a lack of skills on my part. Or, perhaps, the right opportunity has not yet presented itself...
I like to improvise, and I like to listen to music. I think of myself as eclectic, but I'm probably not that much more eclectic than you. I like to try to play rock music, video game music, electronic music, popular songs, European and American art music, etc.
I'm willfully computer-illiterate to a certain point.
